I had to remove the first half of the shrink plastic as it was too
tight of a fit, after that the first 2cells are still linked together but
loose so good old hot glue to put them together and trimmed the
excess glue.
A: original flashlight with all of E removed.
B: 3cell sub size c NiCad battery, with first half of shrink wrap removed.
C: Wire soldered onto back of NiCad battery.
D: Wire stripped and ready for taping to anodized aluminum case (ground).
E: Parts removed and not used.
F: Hot Glue joint and excess glue trimmed.
You can pull on the batteries a fraction to turn off...or push in to turn on
I know now that anodized aluminum seems to be the same as bare aluminum
electrically hence the bare wire just taped to the aluminum case works.
Will let you know if the NiCads work as well and last as long as the AAA's work
.....or whatever ?
