Title: Solar Upgrade Time

Well its time to swap out the 600W of solar on my shed to ~ 1200W

The 6 panels, left to right feed a TS45 MPPT  (6x 100W) , the 7th panel on the far right, an old 55W Siemens does nothing more than run a fan for the shed.

They will all get replaced by 5 235W , 24V  panels. I would have preferred 6 , but roof space limits me to 5 panels (already purchased and stored). These will be rack mounted using the SnapNRack system.

So ,  what are you doing with the old panels ?

I have six more 15w panels That I'll be adding to my shed soon, for a total of 13 panels at 205watts.

Four of them are spoken for , MadScientist has first go as he is local.

The others, no idea yet.

So you got the roof fixed hmmm gonna be a great upgrade !

by the way what size is your shed ?
mines 10 X  12 with Gambel roof 14ft. high at the peak.
room for a couple of lofts at each end

All Installed and wired, :)

Used a 2"x4" fabricated ramp to somewhat match the pitch of the roof. Aluminum angle brackets that I riveted to the bottom of the panels allowed me to slide the panel up the ramp, then hang it off the first rail of the rack, then I would get on the roof an put it into final position. No dead lifting :)

Did the same for the remaining panels.

Hard to do as a one man job, but it worked out.

It was interesting working out where to step with the last panel. Not a lot of room left .
