Remember when I used big D size batteries in place of 3 AAA alkaline
batteries in a 4+1 LED light.?
..........Gave one to my neighbor down the street.....last year!
was wondering why I got no feedback from him about how it worked
out after all these months?
......so I ask him and he says....Oh Yeah It's still working nice and
bright ....use it all the time like a Forever flashlight
Amazing huh ?
actually I used a couple like that as nite lights 6hrs every night .
Just one of those outshines and out performs a dozen of those
"neat" solar powered lawn nite lights with their on at sunset and off
at sunrise.....just turn this one on at sunset and off on your way to
work $2 sure beats $15 or so for those feeble glowing others that
quit after a month or 2 ( Yeah on sale even ! ) LOL

Alkaline batteries have these ratings
AAA - 1150 mah
AA -- 2122 mah
C --- 7800 mah
D --- 17000 mah

So if you substitute a D size battery in place of where an AAA battery originally went it would
last about 15 times longer .
Just think of the numerous times that people could save $$$ by doing this
besides how many less batteries to throw away .
My little camera takes 2 AA batteries even those wonderful energizers and such ....
used to use 2 AA NiCads but they didn't last very long between recharges......
but 2 D size alkaline last a Long Time ;)

The Coleman-type 4 D table lamps with the #1156 looking bulb?
We make LED bulbs for those, mostly for dim night lights in off grid homes.
Just bright enough to get to the potty without a broken toe.
3 LED bulbs with alkaline cells last year and a half easy enough, and that is when on the whole time it is dark outside.
Probably last longer, but who can remember when the batteries were changed if it was more than a year ago?
