OzInverter Control Board with 2 or more Power MOS boards
« on: September 18, 2021, 07:19:53 pm »
Not sure if this has been tried but can the oz version of eg8010 board drive two Madness totem based power mos boards in parallel??
I was thinking of just making a new flat cable with 3 8pin connectors...

Most inverters just use more mosfets in parallel to obtain a higher power output, so I am guessing that it would work as you are only sending signal level pulses to the powerboards.
I have read of problems that occur trying to run too many mosfets in parallel, apparently over about 8kw things get very tricky and they tend to blow up.

Just wondering why you want to run two power boards.
Other ways to increase power output are to use higher power mosfets, but then you have to make sure that you can dump the heat and also that your transformer is up to the job.
Also whether your battery bank is up to supplying such high power for very long.

Thanks Pete

I ended up upgrading the mosfets instead.
