Really mild winter here as well..anchorage ak..out climbing on the mountain yesterday and had to fight off the skeeters ..was in the high 50s..southeast ak hit 71..new record ..last few summers have been hot hear as well...high 80s at times...looks like it going to be another record breaking summer...

bj:
Hey Hiker----just after lunch, and 20 C here.  Supposed to continue somewhere in the
teens for the next week.
Thankfully no skeeters here yet, but it will be soon.
About the only thing we can do is enjoy it.

bj:
Still not very many skeeters here Norm.  Had been record highs for this time of year, then
two days of wet snow.  (gone now)  Think that may have done the fresh hatched ones in.
   Interesting spring.  ;)

hiker1:
Garlic works great as a skeeter repellent ...5 or 6 cloves...crush the raw cloves add to your food...gives you a kick of energy as well...take it before a hike....only problem bears seem to like it as well.........nothin like runnin off into the woods all seasoned up........
