DIY inverter questions.
« on: July 08, 2019, 09:03:07 pm »
Hi Everyone, It's been many years since I had any involvement in the RE stuff. Sadly, I don't remember most of what I had learned about inverters and building them. Life takes us on some interesting journeys sometimes. I am now trying to get back up to speed on inverters.

I have recently scrapped two UPS units made by APC. They both were APC-500 units. I want to take both of the 300 watt transformers and reconfigure them for 600 watts max at 120v from a 12v battery.

I have been looking at these inverter boards from China, but am nervous at buying something that may blow up for no apparent reason? Anyone have anything good or bad to say about these little LF inverter boards? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pure-Sine-Wave-Power-Frequency-Inverter-Board-12-24-48V-600-1000-1800W-Hot-Sell/192884086735?hash=item2ce8c997cf:m:mssPNfU6vLX-ZYMlfew3UKg I am looking to get my feet wet again in the inverter building environment, using my little 600 watt inverter. I am looking for a decent driver card for my two little xformers?

Those boards are usually pretty solid... a few of us have used the bigger brother versions with great success. ..
