Only one problem, it is coming to fast, and it just is not stopping!!

The tail of that system is kickin it here right now. Torrential rain, lots of sky sparks and wind but we are high enough flooding is no concern much right on the farm. Buddy is cowering under the table. He hates storms or loud noise of any kind.
In fact I pointed my panels flat to the sky so they get flushed off.
Great corn growing weather. Rain, humidity and high temperatures and we have had all three this week..

Yeah, thats what they said in Duluth too Tom.
(Most of those pics are from Duluth. )
The zoo there has massive destruction, and many animals are now out roaming.
I heard both seals got out, the polar bear, and more but I don't have the details.
-
Duluth? Jeez - my missus doubted your little Fishhook River in MN would be doing all that.
I grab 24-hour loops, often stitch together week long loops.
Here are two, 14 and 20 June 2012 (Courtesy of Intellicast (http://www.intellicast.com/National/Radar/Yesterday.aspx)) that show nearly stalled storm tracks here in the upper mid-west.

Road conditions yesterday from our dashcam. This is basically the best couple minutes I could pull out that was not mostly snowy white out to the camera
Music might be a bit much, but had to take out the conversation, so I dropped in a youtube supplied audio track
Welcome to Minnesota winter.

Where is the fun in avoiding the drifts?
It is every drivers duty to bust as many of them as possible yaknow!

Row row row your snow.
Fishing opener is on May 11th here, and it looks like we will have to go out on hovercrafts, bring a chainsaw and cut holes to fish.
The ice will still be a foot thick ( or more) at this rate.

People are getting anxious.

Winter is getting Colder

We had that sudden warm up, shocking in fact, made it to 68 F here, but there is always a down side.
Flood map, we are in a watch.
A lot of hubbard is starting to flood, but thankfully thanks partially to a lot of tractor work moving a lot of the snow away from vital areas, and a little luck our property is not flooding at all this year, yet.
-
We had a similar weather change here.
Attached a snip of yesterdays weather. I spent the day moving a bit of water with
pumps. Have to say you couldn't have wiped the smile off my face with a 2x4.
Btw, do not believe the rain number. It's due to a malfunction.
-
LOL Bj, when did you move?
Better yet, I thought Atlantis was never found? ;D
206" would be one righteous downpour hehehe

Still today after 2 days that approach 70F many lakes are 30+ inches of ice.
This is the most I remember ever this late in the spring.
-
late spring here as well...did get off to a good start -then a ton of snow dropped down.. geese showed up a couple of weeks ago --no open water-there all sitting on the ice or on the inlet beach! gets up in the high 40s here 20s or 30s at night !.......................

See? No such thing as "global warming"... Just ask the birds... ;)

Fun, although on April 30th because of the incredible (warmish) winds, the lake ice has thinned considerably.
It looks as though we might have open water for fishing opener yet, but we might have to avoid slush and icebergs.
Now if it were not for tonight hitting the freeze point again.

First time in my life I saw measurable snow in Iowa in May!
Global warming at its finest

Well ice out didn't make it on the lake the governor wanted to fish.
Some will try to fish around around the ice, but if the wind shifts, some boats might get stranded at best, crushed at worst.

We also have had more media coverage than we have seen since the last tornado.
This opener has been in the planning for over a year, right after the governor made the decision.
Looks like we got a 2 for one though this year, the North Dakota governor is here his year too, along with Mn State reps.
All the tourism is very much needed for the economy.
What I loved to see with all of this was the Walmart parking lot almost empty, but main street full to capacity!
