active yaw on a 5m machine
« on: January 23, 2014, 07:57:32 pm »
not sure if posting a direct link is allowed ....  ???

this is the first active yaw i seen on a machine of this size2827-0

not only that , the blades have active pitch as well....the mill is under development and running,  axial flux based but conservatively rated ......it has galvanized rotor disks and in house made fibre glass vacuumed blades .......

seems very interesting ........

Interesting indeed Niall.  Any idea  of blade diameter?

Links are fine after you have a few posts  ;D

Just don't like new users to on most occasions to keep the spammers at bay.

i guess each blade would come in at about 8 feet Bj...which is usually ? still well within normal tail (tail wagger ) operation ....

i might (hope) to see it when its back up running ......the site is about 2 hours away , well worth a trip i think ......

my mill is on a really turbulent site , it constantly hunts and with a heavy prop thats hard on the bearings , so the active yaw seems interesting ....
