Site down time
« on: April 11, 2012, 01:27:55 pm »
Yesterday the internet provider had to take the connection down do to damage done to some equipment from a vehicle crash..
Today they plan to do the same again at 2pm hopefully to finish the job.
They say the job should take 20 min or less
Trying to make power from alternative energy any which way I can.
Just to abuse what I make. (and run this site)

Sorry to have to make this post but:

I have been informed by the connection provider we might be in for a bumpy ride here soon.
There was significant damage to a large fiber splicing closure a few days back.
They have fixed what they can and have restored all in use parts of their service,
but total replacement is required to bring back the full potential capacity that will probably be needed in the future.

I have been working to move this site to a new location and provider, and possibly in the process making the site run on mostly renewable energy,  but reliability issues have come up in the testing of these ideas and so far I havent worked them all out.

I may or may not have much forewarning when these times might happen.
So I hope everyone can stick out a few down-times coming up.
