Anybody use/own a BatteryMINDer® Model 12248 battery charger-desulfinator? Just recently bought one and it seems to work pretty good
on two of my three Interstate 8-D's. Got one that's giving me a fit so far. Resting voltage is 11.2v after sitting for 24 hours. After charging for
30-40 minutes, it kicks the charger off. Done this for several days now.
Just curious how this batteryminder works for anyone else?

One suspects your problem is the rouge battery, a resting voltage of 11.2 after 24H tells me the battery has passed it's use by date.
Perhaps tell us how old, what it has been used for, how it was maintained.

Don't really know the age of the battery....bought all of em together (used) from a dealer about 2 years ago. These are my back up batteries
for when the grid drops out. Keeps me running for about 6 hours with no gas generator running. I was probably lax on battery maintenance,
checking water monthly, SG every six months. They have worked very well in the past, so I really should be thankful for that.
I've just been putting off buying more batteries. Think I'm gonna get some 6v deep cycle golf carts, 75 amp hour, 125 minutes from Sams Club.
They're just $79. each, so I figure about 6 in series/parallel will fill my needs.

I picked up a couple golf cart batteries from Batteries Plus for $100 each. They are 215 ah, cheaper per ah than those batts from Sam's club.
They have a store in Decatur, a couple in Huntsville and several in B'ham.

I think you made a mistake with the 75 Amp hr rating

Yea, probably just heard wrong from my Son, he was pricing them for me. I'll just need to go there and see for myself. 8)

I was at Sam's a week ago, and they did have some little 6V SLA looking battery that was called a 'golf cart' battery.
I didn't look close at it, but the size looked like it could be 75AH. It was on the rack by the 8Ds.
The ~220AH are usually on a skid instead of a rack, but not always.
At this time of year, might be really good to check the date stickers.
If they are from March 2011, might be a great idea to try wait another month or 2, then grab them from the new batch.

I bought 2 Interstate 6 v 225 amp hour GC batteries last year at Andy's RV in Priceville for $80.00 each, he is north of you off I 65.
I bought a 55 amp hour AGM 12 v from Craig battery in Decatur for $ 60.00 3 three years ago.
All are doing well.
I Work in Decatur but I am not associated with any of the stores I mentioned.
Check around at different places and you will be surprised what you find.

Back to BatteryMinder...
I have some of there other units, and they work well.
The waterproof 'Jr'(?) model has a switching regulator, which impressed me for something of that size and ampacity.
Of the dozens or Jrs I have used, a couple are calibrated too high voltage. Before putting TOO much faith in it, I'd put it on a small battery to check the functioning voltage to the operators manual.
I hope they fixed their logo quality.
On mine, they look like photocopies of a 3rd graders magic marker design. LOL

Back to the SAM's Club batteries :)
I picked up 2 more today,6V EGC2's 230 Amp hour (89$ each). I think the initial 75 Amp hr confusion stems from them labeled as 75 AMP and 120 min, however the tag on the shelf displays the 20 HR rating.

These aren't Trojan, but made by Deka/East Penn , branded as Duracell and sold at Sam's club stores.
Duracell models GC2 and EGC2, correspond to GC10 and GC15 in the Deka battery list, see link below for more information

Regular Trojan t105's do cost more . These seem to be decent batteries based on reviews (boating and RV forums), I'm adding 2 more to my bank (orginally had 6, ~ 4 months old , + 2 new ones, for a final of 920 AH @ 12V)
