Title: Poor mans Shop Vac
Post by: Wolvenar on January 02, 2012, 12:03:13 am
Ever have one of those times in your life where your unemployed, living off reserves, have plenty of time but no money to spare?
This was one of those times for me.

Years ago after needing to borrow a shop vac many times, I was looking at some of the junk things I had laying around.
Specifically an old vacuum that was not worth trying to fix because of broken plastic parts. and a bunch of old buckets I had.

This was the outcome, Only bought a filter and some Shoe Goo(brand of hard drying silicon meant for shoe repair) . The rest came from the donor vacuum and a blank cd spindle cover

This worked for many years, it had more power than most shop vacs I have ever seen. But I loaned it to my mother, and got it back with cooked bearings. Oh well it was great while it lasted, Someday I may replace that motor

I like the sexy color. Won't blend into the background and get lost so easy!
