I remember reading a blurb where the Israelis had modified a Gyrojet pistol bullet to be heat seeking - but only enough to correct for small aim errors like in a dark alley or in fog to correct aimpoint to the center of mass of target(s). Very much pre-internet, nothing found on it from a quick search. Something like that around 1980... extremely expensive.
