Now I need to rig up a catch screen to recover the brass for next time. Snow is hell on recovering brass when the automatic flings them 20 feet away.  8)

that is why i have always hated reloading for semi-autos crawling around on the ground looking for brass is not my idea of a good time and usually you are lucky if you end up with half of it back at least were i shoot were it is all grass    :-\

Just found leobrass and they sell range brass really cheap. Mixed headstamps and range run but I got 1000 9mm on the way for $33.50 in hand:

So finding them all back is less of an issue at 3.3 cents a trigger pull for the brass.

"large quantity... (.22) "
The problem is shipping and handling, even for the big outfits.

Might try Mil Surp wholesalers, that you can get to in person.
There was a couple dealers in this region that drove to wherever the transprting ships are, loaded a 1-ton pickup and a large box trailer at the importer's place, then drove back here.
That's a LONG drive, but their retail price was great.

If you find someone who deals with Russian ammo (ie Wolf) in full cases (instead of single boxes), they may have some steel case .22 at a good price by the case.  Smelly, or strange smelling, but I was impressed with it.  Russian "Junior" target ammo was great (cheap, accurate, etc), and I was getting it for $5.50 a brick not all that many years ago.

If the local retail is $2 a box, the seller has no reason to sell it below $1.75 anyway.

A semi local hardware store carries a lot of surplus russian ammo, not sure I ever saw .22 though
OK deals, but not great. Guess I should look if I get in that area again sometime soon.

hate to say it but if your walmart still has a sporting goods section that sells ammo that would probably be your best bet for cheap .22lr ammo they should have 500 round bricks just don't get the Remington thunderbolts they are very inconsistent shot to shot and allot of duds. they are famous for it.  otherwise i was just looking at midway USA at there 22lr selection and they have a few dif brands in the $20-25 for 500 rounds range that is really not that bad considering today's prices  but then there is shipping on top of that and that is the deal killer

Now that is my kind of granny! Fears nothing.

Wow, a .45, a 9mm and a .38. Probably 3 plus rounds of anti fear juice in that gals reach.

This is an older person defending himself story:

Hopefully these stories help balance the scale in favor of citizens being able to defend themselves with deadly force if needed.

3 teens attacking a 95 year old man had a bad day and picked on the wrong old fellow!
