Been about a year
« on: January 14, 2020, 09:54:49 am »
   Not quite--11 months?
Once again we are approaching -40, C or F
Supposed to last about a week.
Not really complaining though, as up to this point it's been a really nice winter.

Wow... lol, don't have pics, but we have been opposite, 34-36 °c and 110% humidity ( ok, that may be a exaggeration, but you get the hint)..

Hello bj,

Here in Hong Kong we have blissful weather. Today the ambient temperature is around 24 degrees Celsius and in the region of 45% humidity. The sky is open blue and there is a slight breeze.

Wish you were here!

Hi David:   Wish I was there as well.   Actually, we were, last April.  Did a ten day cruise.
Wonderful country, wonderful weather, wonderful people.

Hi BJ, there does seem to be a lack of temperature around your way at this time of year.
Here we rarely see it go below 0c. Most of our winter days are in the 3 to 5 degree range.
Not sure if i would get much done at minus 30c. I would actually have to rug up a bit for that.
Here I just wear a T shirt and a poly jumper most days.
Anyway I guess it is indoor job weather for you at the moment. I feel for the tradies who have
to work outside though.

We had an unusually cold cold snap in Dec.
But this Jan has been record breaking warm here this year. But it has made up for it with snow. :(

The cold lasted a little over a week, then started to warm up.  Yesterday, it got up to 6.3 C.
Not a lot of snow here,  and that has been the trend for a few years.
Getting more precipitation during the growing months though, and that`s a good thing.

Here in Tasmania, we are supposed to be going into Summer soon. Well we do live on a mountain in an alpine area, so last night it was -3.5 C outside.
At the moment 8:30am it is 0.4 outside.
Beautiful mountain weather, there is ice on the mountain and we are heading for a max of about 6 degrees today.
Fantastic weather for us.
Cheers

Here, it has been a nice fall.  As I type this, -1C.  No snow here, but there has been in other parts of the province.
Our turn supposed to be in the next couple of days.
The summer was mostly devoid of rain, lots of crop failures etc.
Had to haul water for the new trees that I planted in the spring.  (not one of my best decisions)
Next year?  If we only knew.

An extraordinary year is passing.

Two vaccinations for Covid, another year older in age, and the summer hot weather has been wretchedly hot.

Now Hong Kong has some blissful weather with temperatures around 25 Celsius and low humidity during the day.

Dress wise shorts and a T shirt are adequate from mid morning to mid afternoon, before and after this time frame long jeans and a T shirt are most comfortable.

This weather window will prevail more-or-less as-is through December and possibly into January. At this point some cold weather will arrive via the North East monsoon from way up North in China and Mongolia.

Its been another year!

It's now Saturday 23rd December 2023!

And its damn cold here in Hong Kong.

Just a mere 8.77 degrees Celsius.

I trust anyone reading this note is as well as can be, and the weather is more hospitable wherever you are.

I made it to my 75th birthday! This is a great surprise.

Greetings to all.

David

   hello David
Made that 75 mark as well this year.
Weather here unusual this year, almost a brown Christmas, and temps hovering around the freezing mark
during the day.  Long range says more of the same.
Wishing you and yours,  as well as everybody here a Great New Years for 2024.

We had a no snow Christmas here this year. No complaints from me.
It has been relatively warm even after wengot a snow cover this month, and as usual the weather guessers are treating it like it's the end of the world because we hit -23f for a few hours one night. That's warm for this time of the year here. Oh well media does what they do best, spread fear.
Merry belated Christmas to everyone.
