We are back, But...

We are back..

Why do things always go wrong at home when a person is away?

I am sorry for the down time and missing recent data.
There are also a couple missing/incomplete features that used to be here that will be added back as i can.
I will explain more later but sleep is something I haven't had near enough of of lately.

For now I am going to try to get some of that elusive sleep.

that is because the server this was on suffered a multiple hard drive failure to the raid and the board had to be brought up from scratch and reloaded from the last clean backup.

wolv does the best he can

got a complaint

Not sure about the "/forum/" part... My bookmarks are functional and haven't changed during the down, all I had to do was log back in before I could post.

We appreciate the efforts Wolv.

We've grown into a respectable beast at this point, and I know from my own past endeavors first hand that when you're running the whole show "end to end, the hard way", it's a bit to keep up with... then on top of that it's ad free...

Kurt hit the nail on the head... and I for one wouldn't be taking a number even if it weren't attached to a grenade ;)

Hey Wolv,

I wondered why my recent post disappeared after refreshing the page, thought I was losing my last remaining marble. Nothing really important that spare time and my keyboard can't replace.

Now where did put that cranial memory card????

Cheers and thanks for da site.

Sorry guys. Yes the auto backup and offsite storage failed aug 15th, yet nightly told me different. I will be fixing this by making the remote site also run a script that sends me the details on what was transfered so I have a bit more certainty of said backup.

The only thing we can think of that caused this was the recent CME. I had several hard drive failures not only on the machine hosting the site. None of the machines have any electrical damage,  just the drives were irretrievably scrambled. I have up until this point always updated by hand any security patch needs, while doing so bypassing the upgrade to php. This was because there was another program on that machine which is no longer supported and would not run on new php builds. Well, when installing a new system (on new drives) this backfired as the forum was no longer compatible either with the new php. The fix was an undertaking that would have kept the forum down a lot longer. It was far quicker, easier and future proof to start back at a new download  and re add features that are unique to this forum. The data is unfortunately not as fresh as it should be, but at least it was not as bad as it could have been.

It appears that there is No Way to insert a photo into a post.
Can be uploaded but there is not the dropdown menu with the different ways to insert into the body of the text.
