Just be careful you don't end up on their "Preferred dining list".  Luckily we don't get many
bears around here, and I/we like garlic.

Think we will get some skeeters now.
Much needed rain arrived, here anyway.

  Just an update.
  Lots of moisture now.
Lots of lawn mowing, and trees growing like crazy.

Not bad over in this neck..of society gone berserk...gets hot then rains a bit...gardens is doing great..buried a few fish before seeding...nice and dark green ...thought maybe the stray cats would dig it all up...no Oder or flies...might give it another try next spring ..but on a larger scale...?

Here, very heavy soil.  To keep it from turning to a form of cement, every fall I work in
whatever leaves I can get, also any pruned branches.  (run through chipper/mulcher)
Seems to be making a difference.   Garden is not award winning,  but what I cautiously
call successful.
If I could get decent sand at a reasonable price,  I would add a bunch.  Have tried it
on a small scale  in flower beds and it makes a big difference.  Added benefit is that it
makes weed pulling a lot easier.

So, here in mid July, as close to a perfect summer as you can get.  Good rains, never too much, (although close a couple of times).
Have had suppers with fresh potatoes, carrots, swiss chard, and salads with fresh lettuce.
Other than healthy weeds, nothing to complain about.
Grass growing 1 inch a day doesn't count, as lawns have never looked this good.

Great summer here as well...July broke all recourds..hottest month ever on recourd ! Knocked out my garden last month..moths took over..strange weather as well..when it clouded up it got colder than normal..when it rained it poured...other than that started to build a light weight pedgen...not going to use a heavy flywheel on this one...steel bike rim.to place the mags on...not sure of design yet..thought I might try a 110v single phase setup..then again??

hiker too hot for me like82....was just laying around waiting till it cools off
but thats not working for me so I go in spurts and come in and cool offf
12 volt weed wacker when I put it back on charge and its down 75 %
charge it back up pretty zippy for about 10 min at a time  then break time for me and the weed wacker so going right along .

you are doing away with the flywheel and I'm thinking of using one as the main power source a car wheel and tire and rev it up and then an alternator to
run your treadmill motor ( that some kind and generous soul gave me )  :)
that will power the weed eater one riding mower ( minus the engine an
mower deck something like a handicaps scooter)
wheel will be underneath like the mower deck was .
Oh gosh just plain havin fun   and trying to get to the Lenz type VAWT

Know what you mean about too hot Norm.  Re-doing trailer roof.  White, beside shop, with galvanized roof.
All that reflection, I can't work unless it's a cloudy day.  But just about done.
Glad to hear you are busy, and happy.
Always good to hear about your projects.

Been a warm and very wet winter here.... wind roaring for weeks on end, and rain to match.. for about a month, then it stopped and became beautiful, all the more so after the trashing we have had.

Managed to re-roof the house... it didn't need it, but figured I was still agile enough to do it now, in a few years when it would need it I would not be able to I suspect.

The very wet winter is the same as it was in the 1950's and sixties... so the old timers tell me ... back to the future for them.... darn wet for me. Water still laying everywhere, and ducks and geese and swans all over the paddocks to match.

Been a good time to just play with inverters and other indoor stuff.

It must be amazing to live up there in Alberta, freezing your rear end off, then long hot summers... a real difference between summer and winter. I would have liked to see that first hand, but getting to old to enjoy world hopping now..... I will live it through you folks instead.

Good to see us still all kicking too.

It is an interesting place to live Oz.  Temp spread from warmest day to coldest, can be almost 80 C spread.  Haven't
had that for a few years though. (thankfully, and not complaining)
Know what you mean about doing stuff now, it takes me a lot longer now, than even a few years ago.
But, as you said, we're still kicking, and I too am glad for it.

Can you send some of your rain over please? We are entering our third year of drought here on the south island east coast - aquifer levels are the lowest they have ever been and some of my neighbours have had to re-drill boreholes just for drinking water never mind irrigation (which looks to be under server restriction when we actually need it!!)

Got round to retesting & refilling CO2 cylinder for welder so now can build the case for the Ozinverter and start looking at running the well pump via a VFD.

Would, if I could Frackers.  We went through a ten year lower than average rainfall period,
and same thing on water levels.  About one foot per year on the average.  Last year we got
the average rainfall, this year will be more than average.  Hopeing it will continue.
